Texas Institute CEO Jon Shapiro is a thirty-year veteran of the technology industry.  He founded The Texas Institute in 2009 as a nonprofit research center focused on advanced energy technology and policy research. Mr. Shapiro often speaks on topics including smart grid, technology commercialization, cyber security for critical infrastructure, workforce development, renewable energy, energy efficiency in the built environment, and other industry-related subjects.

Texas Institute President Mark Arementrout has extensive experience in the electricity industry having served as Board Chair of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which manages the electric flow to eighty-five percent of the state's electric load. Mr. Armentrout often speaks about the electric industry, electricity markets, electric systems, and smart grid. He currently leads The Texas Institute's Electric Industry and Markets Training Programs described here.

Texas Institute's Managing Director brings over 30 years of energy market, policy, and legal expertise to energy development. A policy expert and problem solver, Mr. Humble's hands-on experience with major energy developments, policy analysis, and Washington D.C. beltway connections bring insight into future energy policies and leadership to energy investments. He participates in investments and helps actively guide overall company strategies given the shifting winds of state and national energy policies.speaks on the future of the nuclear power industry, project development for renewable electricity and transmission, and the economics impacts of renewable projects. Mr. Humble often speaks about the future of nuclear power, renewable electricity and transmission project development, the economic impacts of renewable projects, and current federal policy initiatives affecting the electric industry.
