Who We Are

The Texas Institute is an independent, nonprofit research institute focused on developing innovative scientific research, technology innovation, and educational resources for energy systems in partnership with industry, government, and leading universities. The Institute is dedicated to creating new opportunities, jobs, and educating the workforce enabling the transformation of our energy systems. Our staff and partners provide research and technical expertise in the areas of energy science, policy research, cyber security, and commercialization.

The Texas Institute will grow industries and attract jobs to Texas by creating world-class research and development in sustainable technologies in partnership with universities, businesses, and communities that capitalizes upon our unique energy and technology resources.

What We Do

From sustainable technology to smart grid, advanced research to economic development and thought leadership to policy advocacy, we collaborate with universities, government and industry to solve some of the world’s toughest problems.

Through collaboration with our community college and other partners, we create and manage workforce development programs and educational curricula designed to prepare students for successful careers in the energy and sustainable technology industries.

With deep expertise in both strategy and technology, and strong execution skills focused on delivering substantial and lasting results, we serve clients in academia, government, business and other institutions. Drawing upon a keen understanding of industry dynamics and extensive experience throughout the entire energy ecosystem, we help our clients make key decisions regarding energy strategy, technology, planning, operations and mergers & acquisitions.
